UFC Michael McDonald

Mayday, mayday, Brad Pickett was in serious trouble on Saturday night – specifically after Michael “Mayday” McDonald (pictured) got his mitts on him.

McDonald was all business early, giving Pickett the business with countless bombs. He wobbled Pickett on numerous occasions, but the veteran managed to weather the opening round storm.

Pickett even managed to score a takedown to start the second stanza.

Yeah, about that…

McDonald slapped on an armbar-triangle choke submission from off his back. Pickett avoided the armbar, but was ultimately forced to tap out to the choke.

The nifty maneuver was good enough to score McDonald “Submission of the Night.” He and Pickett also won “Fight of the Night.”

“UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Sonnen” took place inside TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.
