Looks like Chael Sonnen will have to wait for another day. On this week’s edition of “UFC Tonight,” it was announced Vitor Belfort (pictured) and Dan Henderson have agreed to a rematch.
The UFC would like to have the tango go down in November in Brazil. The weight class the veterans will meet is still being determined.
This marks Belfort’s third straight fight in his homeland of Brazil. “The Phenom” has won four of his past five scraps, including two consecutive in highlight reel fashion.
Belfort requested a fight with Chael Sonnen immediately after watching Sonnen submit former light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua on Saturday. It appears Belfort will have to settle that beef at a later date.
Henderson is searching for a much-needed victory. The 42-year-old has dropped two in a row, with his most recent coming in a split decision defeat to Rashad Evans at UFC 161.
Henderson posted a unanimous decision victory over Belfort in October of 2006 at Pride 32.
No other bouts have been confirmed for the event at this time.
