Brandon Thatch’s (pictured) highly-anticipated UFC debut went off without a hitch Wednesday night – actually, it went off with a bang. Thatch steamrolled Justin Edwards right from the jump, proving to the MMA world that the Octagon is not only where he belongs, but he should have been there a long time ago.
Prior to last night, Thatch was best known for being UFC welterweight king Georges St-Pierre’s training partner. After his vicious victory over Edwards, “Rukus” made a name for himself on the sport’s biggest stage.
Thatch’s TKO was also good enough to score him an extra $50,000 for “Fight of the Night” honors.
Thatch has now finished off his last nine opponents in the opening round.
UFC Fight Night took place inside Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
