What will the Philippines have in common with China and Japan by 2014? They will mark the third country in Asia the UFC will have invaded.

UFC president Dana White made the announcement Wednesday night in Indiana.

White conveyed a similar statement in 2011, yet the Octagon still hasn’t landed in Don Allado country. However, White claims the UFC has leaped all the necessarily hurdles and they are finally prepared to make their debut in the Philippines.

“A few years ago, we were very close to doing a fight in the Philippines, and an ‘Ultimate Fighter’ down there, too,” White stated. “We finally got that deal done. We’re going to the Philippines, we’re going to do a fight down there [next year].

“Not a TUF, but we’re bringing a fight to the Philippines.”

Middleweight Mark Munoz (pictured) and light heavyweight Brandon Vera are the UFC’s biggest Filipino-American stars. White didn’t confirm, but it is believed both would appear in any show the UFC brings to the Philippines.
