At this point, everybody and their mother has dropped their two cents on what Benson Henderson did wrong at UFC 164. However, it’s now time for the professionals to drop their knowledge on the armbar Anthony Pettis (pictured) slapped on Henderson to capture the lightweight crown.
In the latest edition of “Gracie Breakdown,” Rener Gracie and former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida analyze Pettis’ slick submission from “The Dragon’s” garage.
Fun fact: Henderson is a black belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu, while Pettis is only a blue belt. It just goes to show that the slightest mistake at this level, even if it’s to a lower ranked opponent, can cost you greatly.
On a side note, the UFC probably won’t be too pleased Gracie showed Henderson’s verbal submission from the pay-per-view broadcast in the clip. Oops.
