On Wednesday morning, World Series of Fighting announced their sixth event will take place October 26 at BankUnited Center in Florida – the very same day the UFC will be hosting a show in England.
Speaking of the Octagon, former UFC fighter Josh Burkman (pictured) will be collide with Steve Carl for WSOF’s inaugural welterweight title in the night’s featured contest.
Carson Beebe faces Marlon Moraes in the co-main event. In addition, Justin Gaethje squares off against Dan Lauzon in a lightweight affair.
NBC Sports Network airs the main card live beginning at 9PM ET/6PM PT.
No other bouts were reported for the lineup at this time.
By doubling up on MMA events on the day, WSOF is clearly looking to ride the UFC’s coattails to a larger audience. Because of the time zone differences, the UFC’s show in Manchester will air live in North America in the afternoon, which allows fight fans to roll right in to WSOF’s card at night.
You can never have enough MMA in one day, right?
