With every Brazilian on his hit list currently unavailable, Chael Sonnen (pictured) will have to settle for Blackzilian Rashad Evans.
“The most well dressed man, future Hall of Famer, former world champion Rashad Evans – he will be fighting on November 16 against the man with the biggest arms, the greatest charms and does all the harm. You simply know him as Chael P,” Sonnen stated.
Sonnen is fresh off an impressive submission victory over former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. Immediately after last month’s win, Sonnen requested a tango with Wanderlei Silva. However, Silva won’t be available until January with an injured back.
Vitor Belfort then came into the mix, but he was subsequently assigned to Dan Henderson.
Sonnen then set his sights on Evans, who Uncle Chael called out on Twitter the day after the two served together as analysts for UFC Fight Night 27.
Evans collected a much-needed win by taking a decision win over Dan Henderson at UFC 161. He had dropped two straight prior to June’s outing.
Although both fighters have discussed the possibility of dropping down to middleweight, this shootout will take place at light heavyweight.
MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada hosts the festivities.
Here is the card’s current roster:
Josh Koscheck vs. Tyron Woodley
Rory MacDonald vs. Robbie Lawler
Chael Sonnen vs. Rashad Evans
Johny Hendricks vs. Georges St-Pierre (UFC welterweight champion)
