EliteXC Vice President Jared Shaw confirmed today that UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock will be taking on street fighting legend turned MMA fighter Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson on the organization’s third promotion with CBS on October 4th. This will Kimbo’s fourth professional MMA fight, and already his second on CBS’s primetime event.
Sherdog.com first reported the signing of the fight, confirming it with multiple sources close to the situation.
This will be Shamrock’s first fight since he lost to Robert Berry via TKO in March. The MMA legend hasn’t won a fight in over four years, losing his last five bouts.
Kimbo’s last bout came against James Thompson in May. He lost quite a bit of his invincible mystique that night as Thompson was able to expose many of Kimbo’s MMA shortcomings, prompting many established heavyweights to push for a fight with the Youtube legend.
