UFC featherweight Matt Grice (pictured) is in critical condition following a car accident Saturday night in Pottawatomie County Oklahoma.
Grice, who also serves as an Oklahoma City police officer, was off duty when another car slammed into the back of his vehicle while Grice was stopped at a red light.
The 32-year-old was rushed to Oklahoma University Medical Center, where he underwent brain surgery Sunday night.
Daniel Rubenstein posted the following information on Twitter this morning to update fans on his friend’s condition.
“Hes out of surgery,” Rubenstein wrote. “Was told his pupils are small which means there is brain activity. Wont know more til Tomorrow AM.
“Grice Update: In an ICU room. Vitals stable but still in very serious condition. Docs will MRI/Catscan in AM & determine best course of plan.”
According to Rubenstein, Grice has two daughters.
No word on the condition of the person who rammed Grice from behind, nor if they were under the influence of any substances at the time of the accident.
Grice owns a 15-5 professional MMA record.
