On this week’s edition of “UFC Tonight,” it was reported the UFC is hoping to add a heavyweight bout between Travis Browne (pictured) and Stipe Miocic to one of their December shows.
The promotion currently has two events scheduled for that month, UFC on FOX 9 on December 14 in Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California and UFC 168 on December 28 inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Browne is fresh off serving up an upset special over former top contender Alistair Overeem. “Hapa” has bounced back nicely from the lone loss on his resume, a TKO defeat to Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva after injuring his hamstring in the opening minutes, by posting consecutive knockout victories.
Miocic also rebounded well from his first professional loss, which came via TKO to Stefan Struve. At UFC 161 in June, the 31-year-old posted a convincing decision victory over Roy Nelson.
Regardless on which December event this shootout takes place, it will likely appear on the main card.
