Invicta FC featherweight champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino (pictured) has been thrown a last-minute curveball for Friday’s muay Thai bout. On Monday, it was announced Jennifer Colomb will replace injured Martina Jindrova to battle Cyborg at Lion Fight 11.
“I am disappointed that Martina got injured and had to withdraw, but I have trained very hard and am grateful that Jennifer Colomb has stepped up,” said Cyborg. “Nothing changes – I am ready and will bring it to Colomb on Friday night.”
Cyborg owns a 12-1-0-1 professional mixed martial arts record, but has fought in numerous muay Thai competitions in her native Brazil. However, Colomb could be her toughest muay Thai foe to date.
“It is short notice but I am ready and very excited to take this opportunity and fight for Lion Fight Muay Thai in America against one of the best female fighters in the world,” said Colomb, who holds an unblemished 10-0 resume.
Lion Fight 11 will take place at the Third Street Stage at the Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas. AXS TV broadcasts the main card live starting at 10PM ET/7PM.
