After a spectacular night of MMA action, UFC president Dana White awarded Alexander Gustafsson (pictured), Jon Jones, Renan Barao and Mitch Gagnon each an additional $50,000 for their special performances Saturday night at “UFC 165: Jones vs. Gustafsson.”
Gustafsson and Jones not only put on the most thrilling scrap of the evening to win “Fight of the Night,” but their 25-minute affair is the clear frontrunner for “Fight of the Year.”
Jones held on to take a controversial unanimous decision victory to retain his light heavyweight title.
Barao unleashed a nasty spinning back-kick on Eddie Wineland to secure “Knockout of the Night.”
Gagnon put Dustin Kimura to sleep with a guillotine choke in the opening round of their matchup to take “Submission of the Night.”
UFC 165 took place inside Air Canada Centre in Toronto.
