Despite the fact UFC 165 will be jumping off in just four days, Tuesday has been all about UFC on FOX 9. A lightweight tango between Joe Lauzon and Mac Danzig has just been added to the December 14 roster.
The UFC announced the matchup via Twitter. It was the fourth bout the promotion confirmed for the card in the last 24 hours.
Both veterans will be looking to bounced back from back-to-back losses. Lauzon laid an egg in front of his hometown peeps last month against Michael Johnson in Boston. Prior to that, he dropped a decision to Jim Miller in an instant classic.
Dazig, meanwhile, was viciously put to sleep by Melvin Guillard the last time he took center stage. He was outpointed by Takanori Gomi for a split decision defeat before July’s outing.
UFC president Dana White loves Lauzon, so he likely won’t be fighting for his UFC life. Danzig, however, very well could be.
UFC on FOX 9 takes place inside Sleep Train Arena (formerly known as Arco Arena) in Sacramento, California.
