On Thursday, a thrilling featherweight shootout between Dustin Poirier (pictured) and Diego Brandao was added to the UFC 168 roster.
After blasting out of the UFC gates with four straight wins, Poirier has been inconsistent over his past four outings with a 2-2 mark. However, “The Diamond” was last seen scoring a decisive win over fellow up-and-comer Erik Koch at UFC 164.
Brandao will be riding a three-fight winning streak into the biggest bout of his young career. “The Ultimate Fighter 14” winner notched a decision victory over Daniel Pineda last month at UFC Fight Night 26.
The 145-pound affair will likely appear in the night’s prelims.
UFC 168 takes place December 28 inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. A middleweight rematch between champion Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva headlines the pay-per-view broadcast.
Here is the card’s current lineup:
Uriah Hall vs. Chris Leben
Dustin Poirier vs. Diego Brandao
Gleison Tibau vs. Michael Johnson
Josh Barnett vs. Travis Browne
Miesha Tate vs. Ronda Rousey (UFC bantamweight champion)
