Former UFC lightweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson had confirmed his spilt with longtime trainer and friend Juanito Ibarra the weekend prior to UFC 87, however he did not state who his new trainers and training partners were. The former champ has now confirmed that he has joined Wolfslair, a fight team based out of Liverpool, England. UFC fighters Michael Bisping and Paul Kelly train out of the camp as well.
Rampage confirmed his camp with FightersOnlyMagazine, and stated that Wolfslair will now handle many aspects of the fighter’s career, including training and endorsements. Jackson did state that he will still spend the majority of his training time in California.
Rumors have been circulating that Rampage will be returning to the Octagon at UFC 91 in November against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, however UFC management has yet to confirm the match up.
With Rampage’s new affiliation with the England based team, it is highly likely that the UFC will look to exploit that relationship and have the former champion featured on their overseas cards.
