Matt Hughes May Not Need Knee Surgery

Following the loss to Thiago Alves at UFC 85, Matt Hughes thought that his injured left knee would require surgery that would keep him out of action for nearly six months. It now appears that Hughes may not need surgery after all. On a recent blog post on Matt Hughes’ official website, Hughes says, “I went in for my second MRI and also a stress x-ray. It all came back very positive and looks as though I will not need surgery.”

This could be good news for Matt Hughes fans as it could make his return to the Octagon happen sooner rather than later.

There’s only one fight left that Hughes wants though, and that’s a fight with nemesis Matt Serra.

There is also a distinct possibility that he would be open to another fight with BJ Penn, who says that he is also interested in avenging his loss to Hughes.
