Here’s an unwritten rule in the UFC: If your opponent is planking, you have got a great shot at winning an extra $50,000 for “Knockout of the Night.” That theory held true for flyweight John Dodson (pictured) on Saturday night at UFC 166.
Dodson kicked off the live pay-per-view portion of the festivities in spectacular fashion by quickly disposing of Darrell Montague.
The former top contender rocked Montague early with a left hand and abruptly finished things off shortly after with another vicious left. Next thing you know, Montague was falling face-first into the canvas.
BTW, the UFC was feeling extra generous on this great night of fights. They awarded Dodson, and the three other bonus winners, $60,000 for their special performances.
UFC 166 took place inside Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
