Tito Ortiz pulling out of the show’s featured attraction against Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was only just the beginning of Bellator 106’s makeover. Saturday’s event will no longer be of the pay-per-view variety, rather air for free on Spike TV.
In addition, several changes have been made to the lineup. First and foremost, the highly-anticipated rematch between lightweight champion Michael Chandler and Eddie Alavarez, the night’s previous co-main event, has been promoted to top billing. Hence, the new event poster above.
The heavyweight tournament finals bout with former UFC star Cheick Kongo and Vinicius Queiroz was pulled from the roster. Mike Richman vs. Akop Stepanyan and Joe Riggs vs. Mike Bronzoulis have now been bumped to the main card.
Finally, Terry Etim, Patrick Cenoble and Karo Parisyan were yanked from the lineup.
Spike.com streams the preliminary bouts live starting at 7PM ET/4PM PT. Spike will then broadcast the main card at 9PM ET/PT.
