Rafael Feijao Cavalcante

Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante has had a rough 18-month stretch. After his submission victory over Mike Kyle was overturned to a no contest after testing positive for stanozolol metabolites, Cavalcante was knocked out by Thiago Silva in his UFC debut.

To say the former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion needed a win Saturday night against Igor Pokrajac at UFC Fight Night 32 would have been an understatement.

Thankfully for the Brazilian, Pokrajac didn’t brush up on his Muay Thai clinch defense heading into their shootout. Cavalcante landed several knees to his body and face before unleashing a flurry of bombs that eventually brought an end to his assault.

Pokrajac was forced to submit from the strikes. The official time of the stoppage came at 1:18 in the opening stanza.

UFC Fight Night 32 took place inside Goiania Arena in Goiania, Goias, Brazil.
