The bad news for Kelvin Gastelum (pictured) is a torn posterior cruciate ligament in his knee will force the welterweight out of his December 14 scrap against Court McGee. The good news is “The Ultimate Fighter 17” winner will only be out about a month because he won’t require surgery.
“So I guess news is out. I tore my PCL and will need about 4-6 weeks recovery. Good news is I won’t need surgery. I’m really bummed tho :(” Gastelum posted on his official Twitter account Tuesday morning.
The UFC has yet to officially address the injury. With just over a month remaining until showtime, it is believed McGee will remain in the card as the promotion scours its roster for a replacement.
Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California hosts the festivities. FOX will broadcast the main card live starting at 8PM ET/5PM PT.
