Kelvin Gastelum announced Tuesday morning that a torn knee has forced him out of his December 14 scrap against Court McGee (pictured). Fast forward just 10 hours and the UFC has already located a replacement for Gastelum.
Ryan LaFlare will make a quick turnaround from this past Saturday’s unanimous decision victory over Santiago Ponzinibbio to fight McGee at UFC on FOX 9.
LaFlare is unbeaten through nine professional fights, with his last two coming inside the Octagon.
McGee has posted a perfect 2-0 mark since dropping to the welterweight division. “The Crusher” posted a split decision win over Robert Whittaker at UFC Fight Night 27.
The 170-pound affair will appear in the prelims.
UFC on FOX 9 takes place inside Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California.
FOX will broadcast the main card live starting at 8PM ET/5PM PT.
