Video, or it didn’t happen. Sorry, Rony “Jason” Mariano. UFC president Dana White (pictured) captured you punching a door backstage following your 40-second KO loss to Jeremy Stephens, so I guess it did in fact happen.
White has filmed plenty of interesting things in his previous video blogs, but the latest one covers two events in one. First stop was Fort Campbell for UFC Fight for the Troops 3, then to Brazil for Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 32.
Obviously, the most interesting thing there was Jason sucker punching an unsuspecting door. Oddly, the way White described the incident at the post-fight press conference lead you to believe blood immediately started gushing from Jason’s arm.
However, in the footage, I can’t see any blood coming from his arm after the strike. And to clarify, it was more of a standing elbow than a punch.
“He punched a wall, and had to be transported to the hospital. That’s what happened,” White shared at the presser while giggling. “He punched his arm through the wall and he sliced the back of his arm wide open and had to go [get] stitches. I don’t know how deep it is or how serious it is.”
Making matters worse for the featherweight, in addition to his 180-day medical suspension, Jason was also banned another 30 days for his misconduct backstage.
What else new happened in this vlog? Oh yeah, don’t you dare fall asleep on a private Jet while White’s still awake.
