Saturday night in his Bellator MMA debut, former UFC light heavyweight champ Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (pictured) left the cage victorious for the first time since beating Matt Hamill in May 2011.
Rampage’s opening round TKO win over Joey Beltran was his first finish since putting Wanderlei Silva to sleep in December 2008. Nonetheless, Rampage declared he’s “back.”
It could be debated that Rampage was losing most of the round until catching Beltran with a left hook, but if he claims he’s back, then I guess he’s back.
One place Rampage wasn’t back was the light heavyweight division. For no particular reason, his scrap with Beltran took place at a 210-pound catchweight.
Either way, Bellator and Viacom brass breathed a sigh of relief their big free agent acquisition walked away with his hand raised.
Revel in Atlantic City, New Jersey hosted last night’s festivities.
