Well, that was fast. Less than 24 hours after announcing Thiago Silva (pictured) would meet Ovince St. Preux at UFC Fight Night 35, Silva has been forced to withdraw from the scrap for undisclosed reasons.
The light heavyweight shootout was slated to co-headline the January 25 event inside Gwinnett Center in Duluth. UFC officials are currently looking to arrange a new co-featured attraction.
No word on what the promotion’s plans are for St. Preux. It is believed he’ll remain in the lineup.
St. Preux has won 11 of his last 12 bouts, including three straight. He knocked out Cody Donovan this past August.
Fox Sports 1 will broadcast the main card live. Middleweights Luke Rockhold and Constantinos Philipppou headline the gig.
