UFC Champ Brock Lesnar Released From Hospital

Following what was described as “minor surgery” by UFC president Dana White, heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar was released from a North Dakota hospital today. The procedure corrected a bacterial infection in Lesnar’s intestinal tract, an illness he came down with while on a trip to Canada.

Although Lesnar was released from professional care, his health remains in question. It is for that reason that White is urging Lesnar to submit himself to the world-renowned Mayo Clinic to retain the best medical care possible.

MMAWeekly spoke with Lesnar’s coach, Greg Nelson, on Monday and he informed the site that the heavyweight would be heading home to Minnesota “soon.”

Potential challenger Shane Carwin has lent his support to Lesnar by posting a shout out on the Underground Forums yesterday.

Here’s an excerpt from what Carwin had to say:

Brock has a wife, kid, and friends that depend on him to make their lives better. You do not have to support Brock and his antics but you should have respect for the human side of what is happening here.

This is not a ploy to sell more tickets, he is the biggest draw this sport has ever had. This is not him ducking me or any other fighter. This is about a man who is fighting an illness for his career, family and friends.
