UFC Mark Hunt

After a freebie night of MMA action, UFC president Dana White awarded Mark Hunt (pictured), Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua each an additional $50,000 for their special performances Saturday night at “UFC Fight Night: Hunt vs. Bigfoot.”

Hunt and Silva put on one of the most exciting scraps of the year – if not ever – in tonight’s featured attraction. Although their thrilling 25-minute affair resulted in a majority draw, each scored an extra $50,000 for “Fight of the Night” and will also be awarded their win bonuses.

Shogun was facing a possible chat with UFC president Dana White regarding retirement if the former light heavyweight champion lost, but that’s a moot point now. Shogun quickly disposed of James Te Huna in the co-main event with a counter left hook that knocked Te Huna unconscious.

There were no tap outs on the card. Therefore, no “Submission of the Night” bonus.

UFC Fight Night 33 took place inside Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Australia.

Fight of the Night:

Mark Hunt and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva ($50,000/each)

Knockout of the Night:

Mauricio “Shogun” Rua ($50,000)

Submission of the Night:

N/A ($50,000)
