Affliction Officially Teams with HDNet

HDNet Fights officially announced today that they have reached a long-term partnership with Affliction Entertainment.  HDNet Fights will have the exclusive rights to broadcast the first 90 minutes of bouts on all Affliction Pay-Per-View events, starting with “Day of Reckoning” on October 11th.

“This is the beginning of a long-term partnership with Affliction that encompasses live MMA, co-marketing and top fighters for the top weekly show in MMA, Inside MMA on HDNet,” said Andrew Simon, CEO of HDNet Fights. “Affliction has quickly become one of the top organizations in MMA which means it is a must have for HDNet.”

As previously reported by 5thRound.com, HDNet Fights and Affliction had already agreed to this relationship for their October event, however today’s announcement extends their relationship for many events to come.

Affliction had a similar arrangement with with Fox Sports Net for their debut promotion in July, “Banned,”where they aired several bouts on the cable sports network.

HDNet will kick off the coverage of Affliction’s “Day of Reckoning” event beginning at 730PM EST LIVE from the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas on October 11th. Kenny Rice, Bas Rutten, and Ron Kruck will be calling the action for HDNet’s portion of the event.

HDNet’s coverage will contain the following three preliminary bouts:

Jay White vs. Chase Gormley
Mike Pyle vs. Jason High
Roy Nelson vs. Paul Buentello

The Pay-Per-View portion is rumored to feature the following fighters:

Albert Rios vs. Antonio Duarte
Jay Hieron vs. Drew Fickett
Chris Horodecki vs. Dan Lauzon
Ben Rothwell vs. Pedro Rizzo
Matt Lindland vs. Trevor Prangley
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Vladimir Matyushenko
Andrei Arlovski vs. Josh Barnett
