The ink hasn’t even dried on his new UFC contract extension, yet veteran Diego Sanchez (pictured) has already been issued his next assignment.
One day after it was announced Sanchez had inked an eight-fight deal to remain with the UFC, “Dream” will break in his freshly-minted agreement by taking on undefeated Myles Jury at UFC 171.
Sanchez is coming off October’s epic unanimous decision defeat to Gilbert Melendez. The 31-year-old has alternated between wins and losses over his last four outings.
Jury is perfect through his first 13 professional fights, with is last four coming inside the Octagon. “Fury” was most recently seen in September taking a split decision victory over Mike Ricci.
UFC 171 goes down March 15 inside American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
Here is the card’s current lineup:
Bubba McDaniel vs. Tor Troeng
Myles Jury vs. Diego Sanchez
Thiago Silva vs. Ovince St. Preux
Hector Lombard vs. Jake Shields
Glover Teixeira vs. Jon Jones (UFC light heavyweight champion)
