Philosopher George Santayana said, “Those who cannot remember the past, are condemned to repeat it.” Former UFC middleweight king Anderson Silva (pictured) claims his foot was incorrectly positioned when Chris Weidman put him to sleep in their initial encounter.

Silva says he’s learned from the error and will knot up the score at UFC 168.

The Gambling Gods appear to believe “The Spider.” Although, they’re not as convinced as they were back in July.

Silva enters the most anticipated rematch in MMA history as a -170 odds-on favorite to reclaim his throne. Weidman, meanwhile, checks in as a +140 underdog.

Prior to UFC 162, Silva was a -230 favorite, while Weidman was a +180 dark horse.

It will be interesting to see how the late money moves the lines. If I were a betting man, which I may or may not be, I would imagine Silva will be a heavier favorite come showtime.

Here are the wagering lines for Weidman vs. Silva II:

Favorite (-) Underdog (+)

Anderson Silva -170
Chris Weidman +140

Gambling 101:

Bet $170 on Silva and he’s victorious, you win $100
Bet $100 on Weidman and he’s victorious, you win $140
