‘Tis the season to be unemployed – that is if you’re George Sotiropoulos (pictured), Alessio Sakara and Rosi Sexton.
UFC Tonight’s Twitter account announced their releases Thursday.
Sotiropoulos and Sakara had dropped four straight scraps, so their firings weren’t a surprise. Sexton, meanwhile, was winless in both her UFC bouts.
Sotiropoulos, a contestant on “The Ultimate Fighter 6,” was victorious in his first seven Octagons affairs. He then proceeded to lose to Dennis Siver, Rafael dos Anjos, Ross Pearson and most recently KJ Noons.
Sakara has competed for the UFC since 2005, compiling a 6-8 (1 NC) record during that stretch. He was submitted by Nicholas Musoke in October.
With so many women looking to crack into the big leagues, the ladies are on a very short leash. Sexton owns a 13-4 professional mark, but couldn’t scratch under the UFC’s watch.
