Most fans were wondering how Johny Hendricks (pictured) was able to keep his composure during the UFC 167 post-fight press conference after getting robbed in front of thousands of fans for a split decision defeat to now-former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.
Well, it’s probably because he let out most of the frustration backstage while getting his post-fight examination.
UFC president Dana White captured some of the footage in his latest video blog.
“Man, I’ve been bent over a couple of times, but that was probably the worst,” a baffled Hendricks stated. “Makes you wonder if you want to fight again. Well, here’s the thing, that was no split decision. That was a one-sided … (his cornerman completed the sentence with “ass whupping.”)”
Hendricks then bumped into White backstage, who expressed his sorrow for the shocking verdict.
Meanwhile, St-Pierre was busy celebrating the surprising victory with Arnold Schwarzenegger, who GSP said was his “inspiration” growing up.
St-Pierre has since relinquished his title to take a break from MMA. Hendricks battles Robbie Lawler for the vacant belt at UFC 171.
