The MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas has nearly 7,000 rooms for rent at their facility, yet somehow archenemies Miesha Tate (pictured) and Ronda Rousey were assigned rooms, not just on the same floor, but right next door to each other.
Literally, like rooms 1132 and 1133.
“We discovered [Wednesday] night that they actually put Miesha in the room right next door to me,” Rousey revealed on ESPN’s SportsCenter. “I didn’t see her, but my coach passed her boyfriend on the way out. Thankfully, Mr. [Bryan] Caraway was hiding behind a baby so my coach didn’t do anything. Later that night, we heard vacuums going on at 2 am so I’m pretty sure that they ran out and changed rooms.
“I was thinking about throwing furniture at the wall, but I actually had some stuff to do. So before I actually thought of terrorizing them next door, they moved.”
UFC president Dana White explained his company’s slight oversight on Thursday’s edition of “Fox Sports Live.”
“Anybody else on this card, it wouldn’t make a difference if their rooms were next to each other. We had to screw up and put their rooms next to each other,” White explained. “Miesha was like, ‘Are you serious? I’m walking out the hotel and these guys are mad dogging me already.’
“So we switched rooms and put Miesha in another wing of the hotel.”
Regardless of their sleeping arrangements, the ladies will be in the same Octagon together Saturday night when Rousey defends her bantamweight crown against Tate at UFC 168.
