Welterweight Karo Parisyan has discovered that there’s no middle-ground when it comes to being a professional mixed martial arts fighter. After abruptly pulling out of his third UFC event, it appears the Armenian no longer wants to scrap. The dark match between Paulo Thiago and Jacob Volkmann has been promoted to the televised portion of the UFC 106 card.
Parisyan is once again pointing fingers as to why he can’t participate in Saturday’s event inside the Mandalay Bay Event Center in Las Vegas, however his word doesn’t carry as much weight as it used to.
“There’s a lot of problems going on. They won’t re-license me unless I (expletive) pay them,” Parisyan told MMAWeekly.com. “I had to pay the $32,000 fine in order to fight. I never paid because I never had the money. I don’t know if I’ll be able to come back.”
Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director Keith Kizer refutes the Armenian’s explanation as to why he won’t be on the pay-per-view broadcast.
The exact reason why Parisyan exited stage-left remains unknown, however if you were to read between the lines, the writing is all over the wall.
“Everything is over bro. I’m just going to go home. Everything is (expletive) up. I’ve got to think about what I’m going to do for my career,” Parisyan added. “I’ve got to think about what I want to do as far as fighting goes.”
