Middleweight Chris Leben (pictured) is known as one of the UFC’s true gunslingers. On Saturday night, he quit after five minutes in the Octagon with Uriah Hall.
The first seconds of the fight was a great indicator on how the bout would go for Hall after he dropped the veteran with a flying knee. Leben was then beaten to the punch throughout the opening five minutes.
Hall then floored him with a right hand and gave “The Crippler” the business on the ground. Leben was literally saved by the bell, and then he saved himself from additional damage.
Prior to the start of the second round, Leben clearly told his corner, “I’m done.” I’m not sure if he’s referring to just this fight or his career. Probably both now that he has four straight losses.
UFC 168 took place inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
