On Monday evening, the UFC announced their second primetime show of 2014 will take place April 19 in Orlando, Florida.
In addition, the promotion confirmed a heavyweight shootout between Travis Browne (pictured) and Fabricio Werdum and a bantamweight scrap with Miesha Tate and Liz Carmouche will go down inside Amway Center.
A main event for UFC on FOX 11 will be reported shortly.
Browne capped off a spectacular 2013 campaign by knocking out Josh Barnett at UFC 168. The win marked his third straight, with “Hapa’s” prior two coming against former top contenders Alistair Overeem and Gabriel Gonzaga.
Werdum, meanwhile, was slated for next dibs at Cain Velasquez’s heavyweight crown. However, with Velasquez expected to be sidelined until December with a bum shoulder, Werdum was forced to take another tango to prove his mettle. The jiu jitsu specialist will also be riding a three-fight winning streak into the bout.
Tate is fresh off a submission defeat to bitter rival and bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. “Cupcake” has dropped three of her last four.
Carmouche will also be looking to get her career back on track. She’s hoping to bounce back from November’s decision loss to Alexis Davis.
