Anthony Johnson (pictured), you are no welterweight. You are not even a middleweight anymore. After several mishaps on the scale in various divisions, let’s be clear, “Rumble’s” best shot at becoming one of the game’s most dominant forces is at light heavyweight.
Johnson just became the hottest 205-pound free agent in MMA after putting Mike Kyle to sleep Saturday night at World Series of Fighting 8.
Johnson has rattled off six consecutive victories since getting cut by the UFC in January 2012 for his weight issues. Four of those wins have come via some vicious form of knockout.
The 29-year-old’s price tag might be too steep for WSOF, and the promotion probably knows it and that’s why they didn’t grant him an in-cage interview after last night’s highlight reel win, but will the UFC roll the dice on Johnson again?
It wouldn’t be too big of a gamble now that Johnson has found a home at light heavyweight.
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida hosted the festivities.
