Jake Ellenberger (pictured) vs. Tarec Saffiedine: Take Two. After a hamstring injury forced Ellenberger out of this month’s shootout with Saffiedine, the welterweight tango has been rearranged for UFC 172.
UFC officials announced the scrap Friday evening via Twitter.
Ellenberger looks to bounce back from July’s unanimous decision defeat to Rory MacDonald. However, “The Juggernaut” has won eight of his past 10 bouts.
Saffiedine will be riding a five-fight winning streak into the fight. The former Strikeforce star made his UFC debut earlier this month in impressive fashion by posting a unanimous decision win over Hyun Gyu Lim, Ellenberger’s replacement.
The April 26 event takes place inside Baltimore Arena in Baltimore, Maryland.
