It’s UFC 169 fight week, so you know it’s also blog week for UFC president Dana White (pictured). It’s the footage many fans have been waiting for, as it features exclusive clips from what happened at UFC 168.
Most of the video is the same old, same old from White, but the compelling stuff kicks in at the 9:10 mark when they focus on the highly-anticipated rematch between middleweight champion Chris Weidman and Anderson Silva.
Weidman watches the night’s earlier action as he’s getting taped up, while Silva is overjoyed to get a surprise visit from Roy Jones Jr. when he’s getting his hands wrapped.
Then, snap, it happens. Silva is writhing in pain on the Octagon canvas and is carried backstage on a stretcher.
Weidman poses for celebratory pics with A.C. Slater as his coaches, Ray Longo and Matt Serra, discuss the strategy behind checking kicks.
