Former major league slugger and MMA fighter Jose Canseco was involved in an incident at Barney’s Beanery in Burbank, California on Saturday night.

Mr. Canseco was alleged to have snuck in an under-aged person into the 21-and-over bar and grill.

‘You’re calling me a liar?,’ Canseco asked the young female manager.

Apparently this was not the first time Jose has had a run-in at this hot spot. A waitress, who declined to provide her name said, “He’s been in before and he was not very nice … the second he came in, I just heard people buzzing, ‘oh no, he’s here!'”

When approached for a statement regarding the incident, the young manager declined to go into detail but advised, “I’m just doing my job.”

We spoke to a person with Canseco’s party who told us that they were there to hang out after a softball event, an event in which the same Barney’s Beaner was a sponsor. According to the person, Canseco was singled out by management at the bar as he was trying to gather information about why he and his party were being asked to leave.

As Canseco and his party were having dinner outside, other inebriated patrons at the Burbank location were aggressively approaching Canseco and his camp and that was what led to all of the commotion.

Police who showed up at the scene did verify that the I.D. of the person in question was legitimate and he was over the age of 21.
