The UFC wasted no time in erasing Thiago Silva from their roster following the light heavyweight’s arrest. Unfortunately for Ovince St. Preux (pictured), that left him hanging for the past 24 hours.
St. Preux can sleep easy tonight (or perhaps not), as he’s been issued his new assignment for UFC 171. Heavyweight Nikita Krylov has agreed to shed some excess pounds to fight St. Preux on March 15.
UFC officials announced the swap Friday night.
Krylov is less than two weeks removed from collecting his first Octagon W in a TKO victory over Walt Harris. “Al Capone” has alternated between wins and losses over his past five outings.
St. Preux will be riding a three-fight winning streak into the tango. The former Strikeforce star was last seen in August knocking out Cody Donovan.
American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas hosts the festivities.
