Follwing Sengoku’s announcement that they would be canceling their New Year’s Eve card, FEG and Sengoku announced at a joint press conference on Wednesday that the two promotions would be working together to put on a super card on December 31st.Since the days of the now defunct Pride, New Year’s Eve has always been the biggest fight card of the year in Japan and this year seems to be no different as the two rival promotions will be working with one another.

“Dynamite!!” as FEG’s New Year’s events have always been called will feature 19 bouts in all with 5-7 of the fights coming from World Victory Road (Sengoku).

It also appears that Sengoku’s original main event between gold-medal winning judokas Satoshi Ishii and Hidehiko Yoshida is still on, even though Yoshida hasn’t been told so.

“Am I fighting Ishii? That was something that was decided by Sengoku, actually. Since then, I haven’t really heard who it is I’m supposed to be facing, so I don’t know. I suggest that you ask the related parties [for confirmation],” Yoshida told the media.

Other notable fighters expected to participate on the massive card are Shinya Aoki, Kazushi Sakuraba, Hayato Sakurai, Hideo Tokoro and Akihiro Gono.
