Brock Larson was one of the top welterweights in the WEC but after back-to-back losses in the Octagon, the UFC has decided to release the former WEC title contender.

“I was having a hard time getting motivated for my last two fights. I needed a change. The undercards just didn’t do it for me,” Larson texted MMAJunkie.

For a fighter who got a second chance at the UFC, it’s odd that just getting another opportunity wasn’t enough to motivate a guy who currently holds a 26-4 record.

Larson suffered a 2ndRound TKO loss to Brian Foster at “UFC 106: Ortiz vs. Griffin 2″ this past weekend which was the final straw for the welterweight’s second run in the world’s largest MMA promotion.

He will look to either Strikeforce or one of the Japanese MMA promotions for his next paycheck.
