So far, so good for Bellator MMA with their Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (pictured) experiment. The former UFC light heavyweight champion knocked out Christian M’Pumbu in the opening round of their light heavyweight tournament semifinals matchup on Friday.
The finish was impressive, but Rampage’s taunting of a beaten and battered M’Pumbu was not.
Rampage is now perfect in his two Bellator outings, with both scraps ending in highlight reel fashion.
Rampage now advances to the tourney finals to meet…
Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal.
The former Strikeforce champ posted a ho-hum decision win over Mikhail Zayats on the other end of the tourney brackets in last night’s co-featured attraction.
King Mo was ushered into the cage to confront Rampage after his win. As expected, the two went at it verbally and had to be separated. Was it staged? Probably, they are both TNA wrestlers.
No word on when the rivals will collide. However, Bellator announced during Friday’s show that their pay-per-view debut will go down May 17. Sounds fitting the card would showcase their two biggest mainstream stars, no?
