After getting pulled from a UFC 172 scrap against Isaac Vallie-Flagg for undisclosed reasons, lightweight Danny Castillo (pictured) will now fight Charlie Brenneman in the April 26 event.
UFC officials confirmed the new matchup Wednesday evening.
Both 155-pounders are looking to bounce back from losses. Castillo dropped a majority decision to Edson Barboza in his last outing. “Last Call” had won two straight prior to December’s defeat.
Brenneman, meanwhile, was submitted by Beneil Dariush in his return to the Octagon. The 33-year-old had rattled off four consecutive victories in smaller MMA promotions after getting cut by the UFC to earn another crack in the big leagues.
The lightweight affair will appear in the night’s prelims.
Just in case you were wondering, Vallie-Flagg now meets Takanori Gomi at UFC 172.
Baltimore Arena in Baltimore, Maryland hosts the festivities.
