Roy Nelson was the lucky fighter to be awarded the highly-coveted six-figure UFC contract tonight at “The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights Finale” inside The Pearl at The Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson may have been eliminated early-on in the competition, but he took advantage of getting another chance to fight in the Octagon by defeating Houston Alexander via unanimous decision.
It was announced earlier this week that Kimbo would be a last-minute addition to the fight card and by the hoopla that he generated, you would have thought it was the street fighter that was the one competing for the UFC contract.
However, it was the former IFL heavyweight champ, who happened to humiliate Kimbo in the 1stRound of the tournament, that defeated Brendan Schaub in the finals of the heavyweight competition.
The night’s main event featured former “TUF 3” contestant Matt Hamill winning via disaqualification against one of the UFC’s youngest and fastest rising stars in Jon Jones.
