1stRound: Davis is a ripped light heavyweight. Johnson is a tank. Davis shoots and eats an uppercut. Davis answeres with a right of his own. Johnson scores with a leg kick. Johnson clearly worked on his uppercuts in preparations for countless takedown attempts. Davis looks wobbly from one of the uppercuts. Johnson is laying the lumber, but Davis fights to his feet. Davis is bleeding around his left eye. Davis desperately needs a takedown, but I don’t think that’s gonna happen.

5thRound scores it: Johnson, 10-9.

2ndRound: Davis doesn’t look nearly as confident as when he entered the cage. Understandable considering what took place in the opening five minutes. Johnson, meanwhile, looks cool as a cucumber. Davis trying something new with kicks, but nothing significant has connected. Johnson is stuffing every takedown attempt and landing at a high percentage. Not as many bombs as in the first frame, but he’s scoring. Johnson is in complete control.

5thRound scores it: Johnson, 10-9.

3rdRound: Johnson doesn’t even sit between rounds, so don’t expect him to gas out tonight. Davis needs a finish, or a miracle. Davis gets a body lock and still can’t drag Johnson to the ground. Davis was talking a ton of smack to Jones during fight week. Perhaps he should have kept all his attention on Johnson… Davis has offered up no offense tonight.

5thRound scores it: Johnson, 10-9, and should easily run the table, 30-27.

Will take a point the next time. The break may have helped Teixeira because one of those elbows appeared to hurt him. Teixeira lands several punches. 5thRound scores it: Jones, 10-9.

4thRound: Teixeira has a nasty cut on his right eyebrow. Jones continues his assault. I don’t think he’s thrown his right hand in a while, so maybe there’s something wrong with it? No worries, his elbows are doing plenty of damage. Teixeira is still throwing leather, but can’t connect cleanly. Jones clocks him with a spinning elbow. Jones is giving him the business with elbows. Jones gets a takedown just before the horn.

5thRound scores it: Jones, 10-9.

5thRound: Jones is dominating him. Let’s see if he can post a highlight reel finish. Teixeira needs a Hail Mary knockout. Jones gets a brief takedown. Jones is clinching him against the fence. Teixeira nails him with two uppercuts. They are exchanging punches in the pocket. Teixeira’s mouthpiece falls out again and time is called to clean it. No idea why Jones is putting his win at risk by engaging in a shootout, but his call. Jones puts it in cruise control the final minute.

5thRound scores it: Jones, 10-9, and probably swept the cards, 50-45.
