Kimbo Slice Takes Unanimous Decision Over Houston Alexander

Yes, you read the headline correct. Kimbo Slice won a unanimous decision on Saturday night over Houston Alexander at “The Ultimate Fighter Heavyweights” Finale on Spike TV.

In what was supposed to be a knockout special for either fighter, Alexander’s leg-kicking gameplan made the possibility of any knockout impossible.

Going after Kimbo’s arthritic knee, Alexander stuck to his gameplan of staying on the outside and attacking the former YouTube sensation’s legs.

A still inexperienced Kimbo struggled to find the correct plan to counter Alexander, but was able to score a couple of big slams on Alexander and got into the full mount on several occasions.

It was clear that Kimbo landed the heavier shots and Alexander was the fighter who gassed first as Kimbo used his size to push Alexander around when they got close.

Saturday night’s showing proves that Kimbo has improved his ground game, although his punches looked very slow. That could be attributed to fighting a light heavyweight.

It’ll be interesting to see who the UFC matches up against Kimbo Slice next as we’re sure that Dana White and company can’t be too pleased with the way the bout ended.
