As expected, Conor McGregor (pictured) will perform in front of his fellow Irishmen when the UFC makes its long awaited return to Ireland.
On Wednesday, the planet’s premier mixed martial arts promotion announced McGregor will meet Cole Miller in the July 19 event.
The O2 in Dublin hosts the festivities.
Despite fighting just twice inside the octagon, both resulting in victories, McGregor has quickly become one of the UFC’s most popular international fighters. “Notorious” tore his knee in August’s decision victory over Max Holloway and has been riding the pine ever since.
McGregor owns an impressive 14-2 professional record.
Miller, meanwhile, has been clamoring for a scrap with McGregor for quite some time. “The Ultimate Fighter 5” contestant called out the outspoken McGregor after submitting Sam Sicilia in January.
Ask, and you shall receive. However, Miller will have to enter hostile territory to beat McGregor.
The 145-pound shootout will headline the show.
Here is the event’s current lineup:
Nikita Krylov vs. Cody Donovan
Ilir Latifi vs. Tom Lawlor
Phil Harris vs. Neil Seery
Brad Pickett vs. Ian McCall
Gunnar Nelson vs Ryan Laflare
