Less than 24 hours after watching former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos pull out of their May 31 scrap with a hand injury, Stiple Miocic has been issued a new assignment. Miocic will now meet Fabio Maldonado (pictured) at “The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 3 Finale.”
The UFC announced the show’s new featured attraction Tuesday via Twitter.
Maldonado will be riding a three-fight winning streak into the shootout, with all of those victories coming via decision. “Caipira De Aco” was last seen edging Gian Villante in March.
Miocic has rattled off two straight wins. The Croatian owns an impressive 11-1 professional record, with his lone blemish coming to Stefan Struve in September 2012.
Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil hosts “TUF Brazil 3 Finale.”
Fox Sports 1 will broadcast the main card live in America.
Here is the card’s updated lineup:
Ernest Chavez vs. Elias Silverio
Mark Eddiva vs. Kevin Souza
Rodrigo Damm vs. Rashid Magomedov
Demian Maia vs. Alexander Yakovlev
