UFC president Dana White appeared as a guest on this week’s episode of “UFC Tonight” and revealed some fairly interesting information regarding the biggest available women not currently fighting in the octagon.
First and foremost, they are still in talks with bringing Gina Carano (pictured) on board. However, there’s no sign on when Carano might end her five-year hiatus.
That’s the same yang fight fans have been hearing for the past two months, so nothing earth-shattering there.
However, remember when White met with Holy Holm and her representative in March and White essentially slammed the door on inking the former boxer because he was less than pleased with Holm’s manager – which is typically code for, they were demanding too much money? Well, it appears there’s now a small crack in that door.
“Holly Holm and Gina Carano are all a matter of getting a deal done,” White said.
Regarding Cris “Cyborg” Justino, the only woman most believe can beat White’s golden girl, reigning UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, White still hasn’t spoken with Justino but at least he’s not throwing the N-word out there.
“We know all the issues we’ve had with ‘Cyborg,’ from the steroid stuff to the managers to we don’t even have that weight class, so I don’t even know when she would get into the UFC,” White said. “I used to say never. I don’t say never anymore.”
